With an operating history of over 25 years as Ella’s Drapery & Décor, Embellish specializes in custom-tailored window treatments such as drapery and sheers, roman shades, valances, and more, all manufactured right in Cobourg.
We also work with a wide array of manufacturers to provide custom blinds, shades, shutters, and more. From manual lift to motorization, we have a solution for every window!
Our newly expanded showroom is open to the public, for you to stop in and see samples of our work, fabrics, and decorative hardware. We’ll walk you through the process — from consulting on your specific needs, choosing fabric and hardware, measurements, and installation.

Shannon Gardiner
Co-Owner, Shannon Gardiner, a Certified Window Design Specialist and BurdaStyle Certified Teacher, has a long history of design passion with experience as a custom closet design specialist, custom bag designer and maker, theatre practitioner and makeup professional. She continues to work closely with Ella DaSilva and the Drapery Trends team in the Cobourg drapery workroom to help customers choose the right window treatments and accessories for their home. Shannon is also devoted to teaching and assisting customers with their personal sewing projects pertaining to fashion, accessories, and home décor. A friendly face delighted to assist you with all your creative endeavors!
Tamara Allmendinger
Tamara has had the good fortune to have worked in quilt shops in Alberta, British Columbia, Ottawa and now Cobourg, Ontario. She is “Sew” happy to be surrounded by fabric at Embellish, and eager to help you with your next quilting or sewing project.
Laura Hoad
Laura is a certified Interior Decorator with a background in art and design. As a practicing artist, Laura spends her non-Embellish time painting murals, creating hand-lettered signs and doing custom design work. Caryn MacDiarmid
Caryn's unique blend of sewing expertise and Interior Design background makes her adept at assisting customers with their projects. Outside the store, she channels her creativity in her home art studio through sewing, knitting, and creating fiber art pieces.
Ted Rouse
Ted is a Certified Window Fashion Installation Specialist and co-owner of Embellish. He has owned and operated an installation business since 2019, and has been professionally installing for over five years. He has a background in design, marketing, and theatre production, with a passion for hands-on working and customer satisfaction.
