Get to Know your Serger

Class Description

Pull that serger out of your closet! Gain confidence and learn the basics of serging so you can use your serger in fun and creative ways. Our instructor, Ingrid, will start with serger threading and basic maintenance. You will learn how to control the tension, length, width, knife, and type of stitch with the serger. You will also learn to deal with inside and outside corners, curves, and differential feed. You will leave the class with your own serger stitch book that you can reference whenever you need.

Supply List

• Working serger (don’t forget the foot pedal and power cord) and all your machine accessories, including manual
• 4 colours of thread (we carry Wonderfil Designer Polyester); bright colours with contrast suggested
• Serger machine needles
• Fabric scissors
• Thread snips (nice to have)
• Measuring tape and/or sewing gauge 
• Serger Tweezers (useful for threading your serger)
