Binding Made Easy

You’ve just finished your first quilt! The last step in the process is the finishing touch — binding! Join us in the classroom to construct a basic, but cute table runner that showcases a favourite fabric; then learn the tips to successfully bind and you’ll go home with a runner to proudly display!

Supply List

• The Big Easy Runner pattern (included with class fee)
• Sewing machine with IDT or walking foot and ¼” foot
• Sewing machine needles, Quilting or Topstitch 90
• 50 wt cotton thread for assembly of top and thread to match top and backing fabrics for quilting
• Basic sewing kit, including scissors, seam ripper straight pins; Wonder Clips are nice to have
• Hand sewing needle and thread to match binding
• Rotary cutter, mat and rulers, 6 ½” x 24 ½” and 6 ½” square (or similar size)
• Marking tool (Frixion heat erasable or chalk that brushes off)

Fabric Required (Please arrive at class with the cutting noted below done!)

• Fusible Fleece and Backing: 0.45 m (cut 1 strip, width of fabric x 16” wide)
• Main (focus fabric) Print: 0.25 m (cut 1 strip width of fabric x 8 ½” wide)
• Inner Border and Binding: 0.30 m (cut 2 strips @ 1 ¼” wide and 3 strips @ 2 ½” wide)
• Outer Border: 0.10 m (cut 2 strips @ 1 ¾” wide)
