Class Description

The CHA CHA CHA Runner is a fun project that shakes up your fabric strips to create a fun runner. It’s not too early to start your holiday gift sewing!

Supply List

• Pattern – CHA CHA CHA! (available at Embellish)
• Sewing Machine with ¼” foot; bring all your feet and accessories just in case
• Sewing machine needles: Microtex or Universal size 80
• 50 wt neutral thread to piece (we sell Wonderfil Konfetti)
• Basic sewing kit (seam ripper, snips, etc)
• Rotary Cutter, Mat, 6 ½” x 24” or similar ruler
• Straight pins

Fabric Requirements

The Planned Version, using fabric strips will be taught in the class. The instructor will discuss using a charm pack in the runner construction for future projects.

• Planned Version with 4 Prints (as shown in our shop sample) – a fat quarter or fat eighth each of 4 fabrics that match or coordinate with your border fabric.
• Accent Fabric – Fat quarter (could be a neutral or a colour that contrasts with the 4 prints and the border
• Border and Binding – 0.45 m
• Backing and Batting (we recommend Fusible Fleece Batting) – 0.45 m”

Homework

• From each of the 4 Prints - Cut x 2 strips (2 ½” x 21”; it is okay if strips aren’t the exact length; 19” – 21” is fine)
• Accent – Cut 5 strips (1 ½” x 21”)
• Border – Cut 2 strips – 3” x width of fabric
• Cut 1 strip 2” x width of fabric
• The rest of this fabric will be used for binding
