Intermediate Fashion Sewing: Classic Button Down Shirt
Continue your garment sewing journey with the Liesl & Co Classic Shirt!
A true wardrobe staple, this shirt is both versatile and polished. The pattern features separate pieces for A/B, C, and D cup sizes and includes many professional details to help you sew a beautiful looking (and fitting!) shirt.
Our instructor Sarah will guide you through two sessions, focusing on correct fit, pattern interpretation, garment sewing techniques and final construction.
Once you've made one of these classic button down shirts, you'll need one in every colour!

Supply List
All supplies and notions available at Embellish, unless otherwise noted. We are happy to offer a 10% discount on class supplies, please remind us at the cash desk!
- Pattern: Classic Shirt by Liesl & Co (size 0 to 20); Included with class fee
- Sewing Machine with all purpose foot; bring all your accessories and manual just in case
- Woven Light to Medium Weight Fabric – requirements stated on pattern
- Featherweight interfacing; fusible or sew-in
- 7/16" buttons (15-17 required depending on pattern view selected)
- Thread to match/coordinate with fabric
- Universal Sewing Machine Needle – Size 80 or 90
- Fabric scissors
- Craft scissors
- Thread snips
- Marking pen (Heat Sensitive Frixion Pen)
- Pins and/or wonder clips; pattern weights are also nice to hold pattern in place when cutting pattern pieces
- Hand sewing needle
- Ruler
