Clam Up Pouch



Class Description

Conquer your fear of zippers and zippers by the metre! The Clam Up pattern includes 5 bag sizes; we will be constructing the XL bag in the class. The Clam Up Pouch is perfect for storing make-up, sewing, or knitting supplies, tech gear. Choose your fat quarters and start creating.

The Clam Up bag would make a wonderful Mother's Day gift! Or take the class with your Mom to make the experience your gift!

Supply List

  • Pattern – ByAnnie Clam Up Pouch (included in the class cost)
  • Sewing Machine with Walking Foot or IDT with ¼” foot, zipper foot and all-purpose foot (bring your manual and all accessories just in case)
  • Rotary cutter, small mat and 6 1/2'” x 24” ruler (or similar size)
  • Basic sewing kit including thread snips, straight pins, seam ripper and Clover Wonder Clips
  • 24” zipper by the metre and 2 pulls
  • Thread to match exterior and lining fabric as well as thread to match zipper tape
  • Frixion Pen (heat erasable marking pen) to mark quilting lines or chalk liner
  • #90/14 Topstitch needle for your machine
  • Stiletto or ‘Purple Thang’
  • Fabric Scissors.

Fabric Required

  • Exterior Fabric – fat quarter (leftovers will make a medium size Clam Up pouch)
  • Lining Fabric – fat quarter (leftovers will make a medium size Clam Up pouch)
  • Batting – Soft and Stable or Flex Foam cut same size as fat quarter (20” x 22”)
  • Accent Fabric (for grab handles, inside panels and inside batting; please cut for class)
    Cut two 6” x 5 ½”rectangles for inside panels
    Cut two 2 ¼” x 6” rectangles for inside binding

Skill Details: Confident Beginner should be comfortable with this bag. You should know how to use your sewing machine.
