Foundation paper-piecing is a technique where blocks are sewn on a pre-printed foundation paper to achieve accuracy and precision in intricate designs.
Shed some sunlight on your sewing no matter the season! The Vintage Sunburst Quilt Block Foundation Paper by Lori Holt is a printed foundation paper that makes this intricate block a breeze. It’s like paint by number for quilters; sew on the printed lines to create a precise and beautiful quilt block!
Make one block as a wall hanging, or multiple blocks for a table runner or quilt.

CLASS FEE - includes pad of foundation sheets which will make 12 blocks*
*The pad of foundation papers will make 10 blocks that finish at 12”. The pads can be purchased at Embellish if you want to make your project larger.
Supply List
- 12” Vintage Sunburst – Pad of Quilt Block Foundation Paper included with class fee
- Sewing machine with ¼” foot and open toe foot; don’t forget your manual, power cord, foot pedal and all of your accessories
- Sewing machine needles, Universal or Microtex 80
- Neutral 50 wt cotton thread for piecing
- Basic sewing kit, including scissors, thread snips, seam ripper, straight pins; Wonder Clips are nice to have
- Quilters’ Glue Stick
- Add a ¼ Ruler
- Rotary cutter, mat and rulers, 6 ½” x 24 ½” and 6 ½” square (or similar size)
- Fabric (to complete one block with scraps leftover) =
- Background & Center = 0.25 m
- Blades = 0.15 m of 3 fabrics
