Traditional Hand Quilting
Class Description
Take time to slow down and learn the craft of quilting. This class will focus on traditional quilt piecing, done by hand and suited for beginners as well as experienced quilters. Our instructor will explain quilting terms, tools, and supplies, how to select and prepare fabrics, cutting, piecing by hand and pressing. Blocks will be used to construct and quilt a large placemat.

Supply List

- Mandatory Kit ($45 less 10% class discount)
(Kit includes 4 fat quarters for blocks and border, 0.40 metre backing fabric, 0.20 metre binding fabric and 16" x 26” low loft quilt batt)
- Neutral thread for piecing (cotton)
- Hand sewing needles
- Straight Pins
- Marking tool
- Ruler
- Fabric scissors
- Hand Quilting thread
- Hand Quilting needles
- Hand Quilting frame (no larger than 12”x12” for this project)
Nice to have:
-quilter’s safety pins and/or 505 basting spray
-rotary cutter, ruler and mat
-masking tape
-wonder clips
