Divided Basket

Class Description

Learn to make a sturdy and multi-functional basket, with a divided interior, an exterior pocket, and two easy to hold handles. The main body of the basket will be made from canvas, with the interior and pocket to be with a coordinating fabric. We will also be making the straps from the outer canvas material to match!

This beautiful basket would make the perfect "gift bag" for a baby shower basket or new home cleaning essentials!

Supply List

• Sewing Machine in good working order with all-purpose foot (bring your manual and all accessories just in case)
• Microtex or Denim size 14 or 16 sewing machine needle 
• Good Quality Polyester Thread to Coordinate with your Fabrics (we sell Wonderfil Designer Poly Thread) 
• Basic Sewing Kit including straight pins, hand sewing needle, seam ripper, thread snips and fabric scissors 
• Fabric Marking Pen (Chaco Liner or Frixion Pen) 
• Rotary Cutter, mat, ruler 
• Wonder Clips (these are a game changer if you haven't tried them before!)

Included in class fee:

• Fabric: ½ m canvas (main body), one fat quarter (accent), ½ m coordinating fabric (lining), ¾ m interfacing, ½ m stabilizer, and ½ m 1.5” webbing
• Divided basket pattern, by Noodlehead

 **Please pop into the store after registering to pick up your pattern and fabric choices.

Homework – Please arrive at class with all your pattern pieces already cut out. If you would like assistance with this step, please feel free to join us on Thursday night Sewcial, every Thursday evening from 6pm to 8pm to work alongside like-minded sewing peers, and have use of the space and tools available in the classroom!
